LOVE INVASION OUTREACH
In recent years, Burkina Faso has faced the devastating consequences of jihadist actions, leading to a surge in displaced persons seeking refuge in neighboring countries. One of such destinations, is Ghana.
The country, has welcomed hundreds of Burkinabe refugees, particularly in the Bawku West District. In response to this humanitarian crisis, our NGO, in collaboration with Christian Service International, launched a compassionate initiative to support these refugees. This outreach, aptly named the “Love Invasion Outreach,” aimed to provide essential services and most importantly, a glimmer of hope to those facing challenging circumstances.
The Love Invasion Outreach commenced on January 19th, 2023, as our foundation reached out to the refugees in the Soogo community. We distributed corn and soap to approximately 494 individuals, who had fled their homes in Burkina Faso in search of safety and solace.
On January 21st, our team extended its assistance to refugees seeking asylum in Widnaba, and those residing in Zebilla township. We supported approximately 106 refugees in Widnaba and extended same essential aid to 200 refugees in Zebilla, mirroring the support offered to those in Soogo.
The last phase of the outreach commenced on February 14th, 2023, offering a heartfelt Valentine’s Day message of compassion to the refugees. This time, we went beyond the basics and provided clothing, corn, detergents, and soap to approximately 400 refugees.
Our foremost objective was to exemplify compassion and love for our fellow humans. We believed that by demonstrating kindness and empathy, we could make a positive impact on the lives of the refugees.
The traumatic experiences endured by refugees can lead to anxiety and uncertainty. Through our outreach, we sought to bring calm and hope to their hearts, promoting mental well-being and emotional stability during a challenging period in their lives.
Our work is far from over, but together, with the support of our donors and partners, we can create a brighter future for all those affected by conflict and displacement.
